Channel Eau Communications
| Origins:
Channel Eau first revealed itself one sunny summer day in 1995 E.V. A much loved (and now departed) friend and I were sitting shirtless, side by side with our backs to a large log, at a favourite spot on a local beach. |

We were delighting in the bright splendour of the sunlight glinting on the sea, the passing boats and the majestic mountain vista across the bay.
One of us said something like, "This sure beats watching television," and as if to change the channel, the other jokingly made a gesture which mimicked the pointing of a TV remote control device.
"Switch to Channel Eau." I remarked (eau, pronounced "oh," is the French word for water) implying that by doing so we had both been immediately transported from sitting on a couch in front of a television to our new, much preferred situation. We immediately began to laugh uncontrollably.
Our amusement continued as one or the other of us occasionally interrupted our conversation, or the periodic silence, by repeating the channel switching gesture and exaggeratedly exclaiming a prolonged "Eau!" Little effort is required for me to vividly recollect the shared joy of that delightful day, especially the bright music of our relentless laughter and the fine company of my beloved friend.
Life as we know it requires water in order to exist - scientists tell us that life originated in water.
Human bodies are composed mainly of water and can survive for only a few days without replenishing it.
Throughout history, the fate of many civilizations has been determined by ease of access to water, or the ability to channel it to locations where it was not found in natural abundance.
Mobility over, upon, in, under, through and by way of water has been one of the primary means of the movement of human civilization over our planet.
In their search for non-terrestrial life, space scientists are now searching for traces of water on Mars and other celestial bodies.
The collective life of the human race is united by our common basis of water.
Music, essentially intangible and existing only in the moment of its apprehension, is for many of us a commodity that is nearly as vital to our lives as water.
It is in honour of all of the above that Channel Eau is thus named - may it long serve as a vehicle of delivery for our music and your enjoyment.
Sincerely,
Vincent F. Evans, Director
Channel Eau Communications.
